Building Systems
Over the years, I’ve had numerous opportunities to create and improve quality management systems aligned with industry standards such as ISO 9001 and AS9100. One of my most recent projects was the merger of two companies, designing and implementing new business processes and procedures in compliance with aerospace industry requirements.
I am interested in building and refining systems that are efficient, effective, and measurable. As processes are followed, they tend to accumulate redundancies and excess steps, layering over time until it becomes inefficient and unnecessarily complex. I like to break these systems down conceptually to understand exactly what is needed and what can be removed without risk of failure or errors.
The idea of objectives and KPIs are interesting to me as well because I’ve seen them become a waste of time—data collected after the fact merely to check a box, with no meaningful context or actionable insights. The development of lead metrics, as opposed to common lag metrics, is critical for using data to guide decision-making.

Leadership & Education
In both business and community settings, I believe those in a leadership role have a responsibility to those around them. I find it highly rewarding to develop a team, mentor team members, provide career development opportunities, and model strong communication and collaboration skills. Every business or venture relies on the people behind it. My passion is to make sure every person is given the opportunity to grow and succeed.
As a homeschool graduate myself, I have a passion for education and supporting the homeschool community. I’ve been involved in several homeschool co-ops over the years in teaching and advisory roles. I gravitate towards teaching high school literature, composition, and history courses. For me, this is an opportunity to share my own curiosity and encourage students to cultivate their love of learning. I enjoy incorporating concepts from Socratic dialogues to engage students in the process of discovering truth.
I’ve been active in public speaking over the years to share principles of free market economics and libertarianism. For me, freedom is about being able to have thoughtful and respectful conversations together. The world is a complex place and there are no simple answers, but the only way forward is through connection.

I have been writing in various forms since I was a teenager, whether a personal journal, blog posts, poetry, or fiction.
Path of Grass
In 2011 I self-published an historical fiction novel.

Path of Grass is a story of liberty and courage against tyranny. It is a story of people who chose a journey of individual freedom rather than sacrificing their lives to an oppressive government.
